Dr. Kelsey Allen was named a CIFAR Global Scholar for 2026-2028. Dr. Allen will join leading researchers from around the world to advance ambitious ideas across disciplines.
Dr. Samantha Dawson, Dr. Paul Hewitt, and Dr. Connor Kerns received 2025 Killam Faculty Research Awards in recognition of their outstanding research and scholarly contributions.
Dr. Jessica Flake received the Anne Anastasi Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award from Division 5 (Quantitative and Qualitative Methods) of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Zachary Pennington received a 2026 William & Nona Heaslip–Banting Discovery Award to boost his work analyzing the brain’s emotion‑related circuits.
Dr. Jason Rights was elected to the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology for his outstanding scholarship in quantitative methodology.

Dr. Andrew Baron, Dr. Benjamin Cheung, Dr. Samantha Dawson, Dr. Anita DeLongis, Gabrielle Ibasco, Dr. Joelle LeMoult, Dr. Alan Kingstone, Dr. Daniela Palombo, Dr. Toni Schmader, Dr. Azim Shariff, Dr. Rosie Shrout, Dr. Nancy Sin, Dr. Jiaying Zhao and their research collaborators received funding through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) 2025-2026 Insight Grant and Insight Development Grant programs.
Dr. Jessica Flake and Dr. Joan Ongchoco received funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund. This funding will allows faculty to expand their research programs through new infrastructure and equipment.
Dr. Stan Floresco, Dr. Daniela Palombo, Dr. Kiran Soma and their research collaborators received Spring 2026 Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grants. Dr. Palombo also received a 2025 CIHR Priority Announcement Grant to explore how memory influences mental health following pregnancy loss.
Dr. Amori Mikami and Dr. Joan Ongchoco received funding through the B.C. Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF). Dr. Mikami received this funding as part of her Canada Research Chair appointment to support the research project Encouraging Peers’ Social Inclusion of Children with ADHD.
Dr. Darko Odic and Dr. Daniela Palombo received 2026 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery Grants to support their research projects. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances.
