Teaching Excellence
Dr. David King received a 2025-26 UBC Killam Teaching Prize in recognition of his teaching excellence and dedication to student learning.
Dr. Simon Lolliot received a 2026 Open Education Resources (OER) Excellence and Impact Award for his outstanding work on the use of open educational resources at UBC.
Dr. David King and his project team—Dr. Kalina Christoff Hadjiilieva, Andrés Montiel, Kiarah O’Kane, and Dr. Jessica Tracy—were awarded a 2026 -2027 Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) to support the project Centering Queer Voices: Story-Driven Learning in Psychology. Dr. Steven Barnes and Dr. Simon Lolliot continue as members of the TLEF project team for GRASP: Using Generative AI to Efficiently Provide Spaced, Elaborative, Interleaving Formative Assessments, which received renewal funding.
A new course, PSYC 203: Career Exploration Using Psychology , was launched to help undergraduate students explore career pathways early in their degrees. Taught by Dr. Catherine Rawn, this course provides students with psychological approaches to career exploration.
UBC Psychology launched three Future Global Leaders mini-schools as part of the UBC Future Global Leaders program. Over the summer, high school students explored human behaviour, moral decision-making, and social group identity at a university level.

UBC Psychology honours student Victoria Li received the American Psychological Association’s Summer Undergraduate Psychology Experience in Research (SUPER) Fellowship.
Psychology Honours students Fiona Averill, Ksenia Belanger, and Lorelei McEwen received 2025 Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Certificate of Academic Excellence awards.
The Faculty of Arts recognized UBC Psychology 2026 graduating student leaders Hiya Bansal, Erin Fan, Mehak Fatima, Mya Froese, Ananya Gupta, Katie Hartman, Malika Kahlon, Jenneil Lai, Victoria Li, Rebecca Mayfair, Madeleine Quong-Lee, Kate Seeley, Devina Singh, and Brooklyn Wiens.
Donya Keshavarzi, Carmen Migić, Tarin Oli Ahmed, Lynn Zhang, and Emma (Ziye) Zhang were the 2026 Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference Award winners.
